Opel does in some respects a different way than the competition. This first attract attention at the styling, which is characterized by relatively conspicuous features. While the others again something take back the inwards curved surfaces, they appear at the newest Astra more visible. Two sharp edges dominate the side faces, one of them even playful around to the door handle.

The one (or both?) rear spoiler is/are well integrated, while forward, what indeed is typical of the Audi brand as the visible from above cooling opening will be smaller, but deep down opens in exchange a giant with grids provided opening. The headlights are still grown and now score points with well recognizable daytime running lights in each upper part of the casings.

While the exterior changes be less restrained, remain the actuations and the suspension relatively untouched. No direct-injection engine in the gasoline range. As the only aspirating engine has remained the smallest petrol engine, likely, and probably also with good cause for cost reasons.

No sensations at CO2 emissions. For this is the difference between each of the middle gasoline and diesel engines marginally in such a way, that you could have saved each one. After all, the torque of the middle diesel series (1.6 liter) is considerably. We can probably expect still a lot of engines.

To the suspension, there are a lot of press text although it has changed relatively little. If the rear trailing arms have been extended by 10 centimeters, this means that the interior does not really benefit from the longer wheelbase. Also here it seems to give a brake for the development costs.

To the improvements of the rear twist beams now has come a change of the front spring strut. We will look at the new geometry at a later date. It would adjacent to a miracle, would Opel have so much improved the worldwide, at least in small and medium-sized cars almost exclusively occurring front axle, with relatively simple means so much.

It remains a pretty and in no way boring car, which still will make much honor its exciting designation 'GTC' with to install power units. Hopefully, the brand rebound with it and may even stronger tie on certain developments of the competitors. There is still much to do, for example even with the weight reduction ... 01/12
