Benelli was still established in 1911, but not until 10 years later the first self-production is ready. By successfully participation in racing extremely sophisticated engines were created. Financial success, however, leave to be desired, although Benelli with the Australian Carruthers wins in 1969 next to the TT also the official world championship in the 250 class. Being in need, the company was purchased by the vehicle manufacturer de Tomaso. Under the care of this company was presented the above pictured 750 Sei.
Motorcycles had at that time already lost their necessity. The people changed en masse for cars. If you still as producer wanted to hold up the appeal of motorcycle riding, you had to offer something special. To survive in the time of upgrading in Italy Benelli just copied a 500cc Honda four-cylinder engine and even reconstruct this before Honda to a six-cylinder. The result is not a power explosion, but one with its low vibration and elegance not known two-wheeler engine.
